If you lack the workhorse PC to emulate Demon’s Souls, don’t worry. The two groups will be able to share messages and bloodstains, but lack the ability to share their ghosts (for now). A motherfucking Demon Souls remaster would also sell a shitload of copies and be extremely profitable even if it was perfectly playable on the emulator.

Having this means that you can easily play your PS3 games at high fidelity in 20 years even if your PS3 no longer works. Best of all, you’ll be able to enjoy some cross-platform interaction between those on PS3 and those using RPCS3. First things first, emulation is extremely important. But thankfully, the process is detailed in the original Reddit post. It’s not out-of-the-box playable, as you’ll have to do some tweaking on your end to get it to connect properly. Its probably worth the hassle to get the emulator running since your only other option is to buy a ps3 and a copy of Demons Souls (physical copy I assume unless you can somehow get a digital version, idk how ps3s work with the playstation network and all that). This effectively allows emulated games, not just Demon’s Souls, to regain their multiplayer functionality. Luckily, thanks to the miracle that is emulation, there is hope.Īnnounced on the Demon’s Souls Reddit, one of the furthest-developed PS3 emulators, RPCS3, combined with a PSN server replacement tool called RPCN, has managed to get a private server going that swaps with the original PSN server. That’s been the case for Demon’s Souls players ever since the official servers shut down back in 2018. It’s been a known fact for some time that games with an online component will eventually have their servers shut down, and you’ll be left with a game, that while still playable, has a hole left behind.
